    111107 - Tennis-Youth

    Ages 4-7: Forehand, backhand and volley will all be introduced which will aid in developing gross motor skills. Plenty of fun and games will also be incorporated. A mixture orange and regular balls will be used. Please bring a racquet, a smile, and water bottle to class.

    Tennis Program Director, Bill McGarry & his staff are back for another year to bring you fun on the courts! Bill is a certified tennis professional through the USPTA, P1 rating and has over 25 years of teaching experience. He played college tennis at the University of Michigan and has 5 years of tour experience. He also teaches at Wimbledon Racquet Club during the winter months. All make-ups must be pre-scheduled with Bill. Please call him at 586-855-8990 regarding any tennis programming questions.

    111112 - Summer Baseball

    Batter Up! Children play in a non-competitive atmosphere that promotes learning the FUNdamentals of the game. Request the same team as your buddy at the time of registration. Buddies must request each other, and although the staff does its best to accommodate requests, there are no guarantees for team placement.

    Volunteer coaches and assistants are mandatory for the success of the program. Please indicate when registering if you are interested in coaching. Volunteer meeting held prior to program with guidelines and assistance given by Parks and Recreation Staff.

    This program is for children or adults who want to learn the basics of rollerskating and rollerblading in a fun and safe environment. During this session you will learn forward skating, backward skating, starting, stopping, and how to balance. You can bring in your own skates/blades or skate/blade rental is included.

    TGA Premier Golf brings the golf course to the gym at the Shelby Township Activities Center! Children learn swing fundamentals, putting, chipping, rules, etiquette, and life values in a safe, nurturing environment. All equipment is provided and TGA guarantees a student-coach ratio of 8-1 or better.

    BODYPUMP! The original weight lifting class! BODYPUMP is a weights class for absolutely everyone. This form of weight training will make you toned, lean and fit. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, it will give you a TOTAL body workout that burnings lots of calories. The encouragement, motivation and great music you get in a BODYPUMP class will help you achieve much more than you would on your own. For all levels of fitness! Modifications are shown to all exercisers by our amazing Certified BODYPUMP Instructors. Only at Body Images!

    “STEP” Aerobics This workout is for ALL levels of fitness and uses easy, basic stepping movements to motivating music to give you a FUN stepping workout. Segments of upper and lower body toning with light dumbbells, abs and core exercises will finish this great class.

    TOTAL BODY H.I.I.T. This is a 45-minute interval workout with short-bursts of fat burning exercises, focusing on upper and lower body, toning and strengthening legs and gluts! This cardio/strength workout is different every class. All fitness levels welcome. Modifications of ALL exercises are shown. You can do this!

    WEEKEND WARRIORS’ BOOTCAMP! This 45 minute workout focuses improving your cardio, toning arms, legs and butt, core conditioning in a circuit style class using a large variety of FUN fitness equipment. Boxing, partner drills, medicine balls, TRX, BOSU, and much more - TOTALLY FUN! Work at your own pace. All fitness levels welcome.

    POUND A full body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, pilates and strength movements, plyometrics and isometric poses through continual upper body motion using our lightly weighted drumsticks, you will turn into a calorie torching drummr, Pounding off pounds as each song flies by!

    LOW IMPACT “NEW” Old school aerobics is making a comeback. No stress on your joints or your muscle skeletal system and it’s for all levels of fitness. Fun, motivating music and simple patterns will help improve your physical fitness level and burn FAT calories. Get you back in great shape!

    Tai Chi is a form of moving meditation, consisting of slow graceful movements that can improve balance, increase circulation, and reduce every day stress. It also strengthens the body and mind. Instructor Janet Randolph will help you experience the many benefits of Yang Style Tai Chi. This class is for all ages & is VERY popular so enroll now!
